An accomplished percussionist and music educator, Alex DiFabio graduated with honors from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and received his Bachelor of Music in Music Education as well as his Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance. Before attending WCU, Alex was a dedicated member of the Westfield High School music community and held leadership positions in a diverse array of ensembles including the WHS Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Marching Band, Percussion Ensemble, Pit Orchestra, Choir, and Orchestra. Alex’s tireless work ethic and exceptional musical ability also earned him spots in New Jersey’s highly competitive All-State Wind Ensemble and All-State Orchestra. Committed to further developing his musical and educational skills at the undergraduate level, Alex went on to participate in West Chester University’s Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Steel Pan Band, Percussion Ensemble, and Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band.

From performances at New York City’s Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall to teaching and providing percussion masterclasses at local schools, Alex’s recent musical accomplishments have cemented his desire to pursue a career in performance as well as in education, and to foster this same appreciation for music in new and developing musicians. As an educator, Alex teaches 1-5 music classes as well as 4th and 5th grade band in the Clark Public Schools.

Alex started Southside Beat to give back to a community that has done so much for him over the years, and he couldn’t be more excited to share his passion for music by providing high-quality percussion instruction to students of all levels.
